Why would you spend the time on your Google My Business Page? There are so many reasons why businesses use specific sites to develop their marketing strategy. Your Google Business page is not something new, but it is becoming more important for businesses.
#1 Organic search is not what it use to be.
In the past there were tons of marketing companies that wanted to promise you those coveted first page of Google listings. Depending on your business, and the competition in the market, often times a company could improve your organic search results.
Then came the ads. Google added more ads to the front page and also added images and a map section which took up valuable restate on that coveted first page. The Google My Business page developed as there was a need to find businesses in a geographical area. These location maps are very helpful for businesses that offer services to a small geographical market.
As they have honed in on the geographical aspect and more and more people are asking their smart devices to find “pizza in Cleveland” or “dry cleaner in Medina.” The search results benefited many using the map function of Google.

Reviews also help potential customers chose you, and they are associated with your Google My Business page. Under your map location provides your Google rating. As customers leave feedback about your products and service, those results are seen by more people than your website in many cases.
What do I mean by your reviews are seen more than your website? If potential clients are looking for a product or service that you provide and they discount you before they ever click on your website because of a poor rating, you have no idea how many customers you have lost before you can even really track them.
Make sure your first impression in the search results is going to support your potential customers desire to click on your website link.
#3 Videos and Photos on your Google My Business Page
You can imagine my shock when I realized that my customers get more views on their videos hosted directly on their Google My Business pages than You-Tube. There are a few basic reasons for this. Think about where people are searching for you. Are they going to You-Tube to find your business when they don’t even know your name? Are they looking on Facebook? No they are searching in a search engine.
Do me a favor. Open a search window and search your industry. Put in a key phrase you think people are searching for you with. What do you see? At the top of the page you will see a few ads. Then you will see the map results, then you will see things like hiring websites, Wikipedia, and depending on your industry you may see related journals, news… Not too many companies are showing up, that is not always the case, but many times it is. In addition you will also not see too many Facebook pages, or LinkedIn pages showing up.
