About Elizabeth Orley- Master and Commander
Elizabeth Orley is… Do you know how hard it is to write about yourself? I have dozens of different bios that piece together what makes me who I am. Today my passion is to improve what I see in my community to make it a better place for my kids to learn and grow.
The story of how I got to this point in my journey is interesting too, but does it matter to everyone that I grew up in Flagstaff, Arizona? Do people care that while I am from Arizona and I now live in Ohio, I grew up shoveling more snow than we get here in a typical winter. I went as far away from Flagstaff as in state college could take me when I moved to Tucson, Arizona. I am a crazy Arizona Wildcat. I graduated with a two degree in History and Political Science. I found out later I also qualified for a Associates in Middle Eastern Studies, and was given that piece of paper as well.
So you are asking yourself how someone with a Poli-Sci and History degree ended up owning a digital marketing company. Well that is a long story too. The short version is that I started doing promotional marketing events in college. I traveled all over the country. Often I traveled by 24′ box trucks which I learned to parallel park. I lived out of a suitcase for about a year and decided I was really passionate about branding and product marketing.
I moved to Ohio, continued to do promotional work, and interned with one of the most influential people in my career Mr. Bill Mann. I spent a better part of the next five years of my life learning everything I could about photography, videography, graphics, and traditional advertising. I worked with national companies, helped local businesses, and realized that things were really changing in the digital era.
My business developed into a digital marketing focused company. I worked with web developers, learned about the monster we call Google, and started really understanding that there is a bigger strategy to developing a brand in a digital world. Elizabeth Ink is a product of a decade of learning, hard work, and too many hours of blood, sweat and tear to quantify.
Today, I focus on helping companies develop marketing strategy for their companies. There is so much more to this digital marketing stuff than most people realize. It is a chess game I am happy to spend my life playing.
